Is Batman a Murderer?

Nerdist’s Jessica Chobot interviewed me about an interesting legal issue from Batman Begins: is Batman criminally responsible for Ra’s al Ghul’s death?  A similar question was asked in a comment to this post back in 2012, but the answer had to wait until now.  So is Batman a murderer? What about Jim Gordon?  Watch the interview to find out!

Interview on “When We Last Left Our Heroes”

Yesterday I was interviewed for the podcast series When We Last Left Our Heroes, a great comics podcast series from BFM, a radio station in Malaysia. Recent episodes have featured interviews with Neal Adams and Paul Levitz, so I felt in good company.  Thanks to Umpagan Ampikaipakan for having me on!

Geek’s Guide to the Galaxy Interview

Occasional guest author Brad Desnoyer and I were interviewed for the Geek’s Guide to the Galaxy podcast, hosted by  Thanks to David Barr Kirtley for a great interview!

Family Law Insider Podcast

Last week I was the guest on the Family Law Insider podcast, which is produced by the Hernandez Family Law firm.  Family law is not the most frequent topic on Law and the Multiverse (perhaps unsurprisingly that honor goes to criminal law), but it has come up several times.  Thanks to Wendy Hernandez for a fun interview!

(I’ll go ahead and own up to not being as familiar with Hank Pym’s relationship with the Wasp as I should have been.  Also, I completely blanked on naming any homosexual characters, which was especially a shame in this context given the controversy over Batwoman’s (non)-wedding.)

Lawyer2Lawyer Podcast

[Spoiler Alert for The Dark Knight Rises.  If you haven’t seen it yet, you should.]

Last month I was invited onto Lawyer2Lawyer to discuss legal issues raised by the end of The Dark Knight Rises, as originally discussed in this guest post by Mike Lee. Lawyer2Lawyer is a podcast that analyzes contemporary news topics from a legal perspective on the Legal Talk Network. Normally they cover serious news stories, but this time the question was “is Batman legally dead?”  I was joined on the show by Michael Baroni, General Counsel at Palace Entertainment and a long-time Batman fan.

Comic-Con International

I’m excited to announce that I will be at Comic-Con International with the psychiatrists from Broadcast Thought, with our panel and mock trial about zombies, psychiatry, and the law.  Ryan will not be able to make it, but we have an excellent guest attorney in Jeff Trexler, who writes The Legal View column at The Beat.

The official schedule has not been announced yet, but our panel should be Thursday, July 18th from 8pm-9:30pm in Room 7AB.  As I understand it, Comic-Con has long since sold out, but we hope to see many of you there!

Also, parts two, three, and four of our interview at Something Deeper are now up, so check those out!

Interview at Something Deeper

We were interviewed by Linda Thai at Something Deeper, a blog about anime, manga, and comics.  The first part of the interview went up today, with the rest of the interview to follow in the coming days.  Check it out!

Skepticality Podcast Interview

Back in December Ryan and I recorded an interview with Skepticality, the podcast of Skeptic Magazine and the Skeptics Society.  Skepticality normally records interviews quite a ways in advance of publication, and ours was no exception, but today it has gone live, so check it out!  Thanks to Derek for a great interview!

This Week in Law

Ryan and I were on  This Week in Law today to discuss a variety of current legal topics.  If you missed the live show you can watch the video online.  Thanks to Evan Brown for a great show!

Metro UK Interview

Ryan and I were interviewed for the Metro newspaper in the UK.  Thanks to Ross McGuinness for a great interview!
